Mommy it’s hot, too hot to play!
When will this weather go away?
I’m afraid my dear, summer’s just begun.
Run along now, and try to have fun.
Mommy, these leaves will take me all day!
When will this weather go away?
I’m afraid my dear, this happens in the fall.
You should be happy; it’s no longer hot after all.
Mommy, I want to swim at bay!
When will this weather go away?
I’m afraid my dear, it will be cold for a while.
Cheer up those winter blues and get warm by the fire.
Mommy, I played and played today!
I love this weather; can we keep it from going away?
I’m afraid my dear, whether hot or cold, all seasons must come and go.
Even the spring will have to pass, until next year when the March winds blow.
When Will This Weather Go Away?

Poetry: Hot and cold
The air is warm within this soul, as snowflakes hit the ground,
And coldest winter fills the air, and blankets earth
by Ted Onulak
Two days before Christmas
The record ice storm came
Encasing each naked branch and wire
With a thick transparent mask
Daring
Snow-stormy winter mornings make me want to snuggle up
With someone's latest novel, and hot coffee in my cup.
When drifts
Like the heat from above,
The memories of a first love,
Lingered in the summer of heat,
Tapping at the mind with an old
Relying on the fires within through cold-hearted disdain
Hot breath escapes my lungs, seeking to attain
A temporary perch
