The start of the film sees the wedding of Kate and Henry who are madly in love but tragedy strikes when Kate gets crushed by an angel ice sculpture and dies. We see Kate being talked to by an Angel but as she is too busty arguing with her that she is not an Angel as she doesn’t have wings she does not hear what she has to do in order to pass over to heaven.
We then move to a year later when Henry is still depressed over Kate’s death and his sister takes charge of him and suggests that he goes to see a medium so he can finally get closure and move on. They go to see Ashley and she is unable to help at first but after a visit from Henry’s sister she is persuaded to read Kate’s old diary and convince Henry that Kate wants him to move on with his life.
Ashley finally manages to see Henry again and they start to get close but Ashley soon gets an unwanted visitor in the form of Kate who is a ghost. Ashley is falling for Henry and Kate is not happy about this and thinks she is still around to stop Henry from dating her and falling in love again. Kate starts to make Ashley’s life hell and is constantly tormenting her and making her look crazy in front of Henry.
Will Kate actually realise why she is still around and do the right thing and will Henry and Ashley finally both be able to move on and become an item?
I have to say that I found this film to be very average. The storyline was quite good and just not at all believable but as there was a lot of humour in the film then this can be forgiven. Hubby says that he found it to be a modern day take on the old film ‘Ghost’. I do agree that there are some similarities but I could clearly seer that this is not what they intended to do.
The characters were all good and I did like them all and found they all worked well together. Eva Longoria Parker took the role of Kate and did a good job of playing an irritating ghost and Paul Rudd played the role of Henry very well and I have to say he is very cute! I found that all of the supporting actors and actresses did a good job in their characters and added a little much needed depth to the story. I especially enjoyed the role of Ashley’s gay friend and thought he bought some good fun parts to the film.
The film was set in modern day America so all of the settings and costumes were all good and looked very authentic. I found that the effects which were used during the film were all good and looked very authentic and were not noticeably
