There seems to be lot of debate about which religion is the best or most peaceful.
Theoretically all the religions talks about peace, happiness, compassion, love, understanding, forgiving, etc; And why shouldn't they, as every religion is meant to do that. But each religion sets different boundaries, some only include humans or some only includes the people who follow that religion, etc.
Then how do we conclude.
OK. In democracy if you have these issues then you vote.
If you have a voting system, then all the Christians will vote for Christianity, all the Muslims will vote for Islam, so on and forth. Therefore how to do you come to conclusion?
What if you include all the animals, birds, plants, ants, mosquito and every possible living being on earth or universe to vote? For whom do you think they will vote?
Don't you think that these living beings don't feel and doesn't have senses? They might have few less senses or intellect then we humans but they are still beings. Scientist has even proved that plants can feel pain.
The religion which treats all the beings fundamentally equally, in my view should be considered as the most peaceful religion?
Any answers?
In my view it’s Jainism (reference http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jainism)
Jainism respects all the religions, but doesn't acknowledge any supreme power. All the beings are equal whether they follow no or a religion.
A being is judged naturally by what he does (good or bad) in his past. Merely following a religion will not get you out of your wrong doings.
This is a natural system running from endless times and we all are part of this system, no one has created or no one has capacity to destroy. The only one who has capacity is only us.
The soul gets promotion or demotion from one stage to other based on the deeds what it does in one life. Similar to our educational system; isn't fair and logical.
Forgiveness is always there and applied based on the honest confession and non repeating deeds but is not given for granted to everyone. Similar to our judicial system; isn't fair and logical.
Love, sympathy, understanding is extended to all the beings (include animals, birds, and even the plants) because all of them can feel and has got the same soul we have humans have got. We have only progressed some levels higher than them. One day their soul will also become human.
Please note that these (non-human) beings are also living beings and can feel pain and happiness as proven by scientists. Then why don't we consider about their welfare when voting for the best religion?
