Being a mother of three boys, I cannot say for sure whether girls or boys are easier to raise, but from my experience, they are racing neck and neck for the top.

It really never mattered to me if I were having a boy or girl when I was pregnant. As generic as it sounds, I was just lucky to be having healthy babies. I was told boys are much easier to raise but without being a parent firsthand, you really just do not know. I sometimes feel that my boys are just as difficult as any other children, boys and girls. They talk back, have attitudes, can be lazy, spoiled, mean and so on. Looking at these characteristic s of boys and people in general, I am sure they are also very common in girls.

I can say shopping for a boy and getting a boy dressed is not very challenging. There are far more options when it comes to buying girls clothes. This has been true with all of my boys with the oldest now being 12. There was not a whole lot to choose from back then and still isn’t today. Choosing outfits in a store is pretty simple and probably much easier than shopping for girl clothes. For starters, there is just way too much to choose from when it comes to girls clothing. You may find one pair of pants or shorts and five adorable shirts to match. How do you choose?  Then there are accessories. Finding the right hair bow, bracelet, necklace and frilly socks can be hard and time consuming. Of course, do not forget the shoes. They have to match the outfit too. Shopping for clothes for boys is far easier for me: shirt, bottoms, socks and shoes. The shoes don’t always have to match either; it is just ok with boys.

When it comes to attitudes, I believe that the boys are tough but girls might be tougher to handle. My boys pitch fits, argue and are sometimes downright mean, but girls are so stubborn, prissy and think they are ‘IT’. I can only say this by watching my sister raise her daughter. Girls have a tendency to be bossy and always want things their way. Boys seem to be more easy going and better with sharing.

Now for hormones and physical changes, this can be a big issue for both genders. Girls grow breasts and start their periods. Boys grow hair and go through a change with their voice. Both go through hormones changes, maybe not at the very same age, but the both do. I have to say that raising boys and girls with their ranging hormones may be the most challenging part of life with them.

I believe girls and boys are very similar when it
