Well I suppose the real question being asked here is whether the benefits of homeschooling outdoes the benefits of formal education? I agree with many people that homeschooling is in many ways more effective and efficient at helping children absorb and learn large amounts of information that is needed for exams. However I see many flaws in home education, at school you may not learn quite as much however you do learn valuable social lessons that you will be using throughout the rest of your life.

Children at school develop life skills such as the ability to communicate with their own age group. In the home children are with their parents and therefore cannot experience a new environment. What do you think is going to happen when these children experience the real world? Well the harsh reality is that they will find life very difficult. They will not have the vital communication skills that other children have learnt at school. Even though many parents argue that education in schools at the moment is not up to standards I feel that they are depriving children of the experience of school. School may be tough, there are bullies out there but this modern society should not give into this. They should stand up to these people and fight for what is right.

School is a more interactive environment then at home. Socially school is far beyond the standard at home because there are more people to be more interactive with. Children need to experience everyday problems when they are young so they know how to handle them when they are older. School in my belief is a place in which people learn subjects for exams but also they learn the crucial life lessons. I know that if you gave most children the opportunity to go to school and the opportunity to be home schooled, and they had experienced both most would go for school because it gives them a sense of independence. Children need time away from home because they need to be able to fend for themselves. Mum and Dad won’t always be there for them. It’s cruel for parents to keep children in a home environment to learn, they need to experience the real world.

At school children experience so many more opportunities then they would at home. At school there are sporting opportunities, perhaps your child could be the next Rafael Nadal. Who knows? My point is that at school your child will be able to develop and investigate lots of different sports and will be encouraged at his school to develop his or hers skills.
