Product reviews: The InvisibleShield by ZAGG for the Zune

by Marilla Mulwane

Created on: July 01, 2010

The InvisibleShield by ZAGG claims to be the ultimate protection for your electronics. It also promises to look as if there isn't any armor on those devices. When you cough up lots of money for your iPod or laptop, you want to keep it safe from those beatings you just know it's going to get over time. We are never gentle to our electronics, but we want to keep them working and looking good for as long as we can.

This review of the InvisibleShield by Zagg is for the Zune 80gb, but applies to any product the InvisibleShield is made for.

What is the InvisibleShield by Zagg?

The InvisibleShield is armor for your electronics. Zagg makes them for many of the most popular products out there. The actual product is simple, as it is just a plastic see-through sticker that covers your Zune or other product. You know those sticky screen covers for LCD screens? The InvisibleShield is the same thing, just for the entire product. Oh, and it's ten times tougher.

What does the InvisibleShield by Zagg do for your Zune or other product?

The InvisibleShield protects against scratches, dirt, and most dents or dings. Just like those little screen covers. The big difference is that that, somehow, the InvisibleShield takes a real punch and keeps doing its job.

Before buying the InvisibleShield watch the video on the Zagg website. There is a short video of how tough the InvisibleShield is. They start by taking a key to the product covered by the InvisibleShield. The key gets scratched across the product and you never see even the smallest scratch. Then they drop nails on it. Finally, they take a drill to the InvisibleShield. Yes, this time there is a huge scratch, but when they peel the InvisibleShield off, the product still looks shiny new.

Does the InvisibleShield by Zagg actually work on your Zune or other product?

Surprisingly, yes. That is some tough plastic. You can really give your newly protected Zune the key test without fear of scratching your pretty electronics. The InvisibleShield does its job, and surprises plenty of people. It's a lot of fun, too, to try and scratch up your Zune or iPod, just for fun. Don't take a drill to it, though, as that would mean you'd have to buy a new InvisibleShield. Keys are fun enough, and they won't leave a mark.

Is the InvisibleShield by Zagg easy to install on your Zune?

Before installing the InvisibleShield on any product, watch the installation videos they have on their websites. The instructions that come written in the InvisibleShield
