It requires only creativity to build that something fun for the hamster at home. It can be done both freely and easily. Here is one recommendation based on using scrap clothes or any unwanted garments. All you need is a pair of scissors, sewing kit and a blueprint.
First of all, hamsters love climbing and clinging onto webby nettings; so build a mesh by cutting out tiny holes using the folding technique. Cut out a square piece of cloth from any of those unwanted clothes within the perimeters big enough to cover the base, width and height of the cage. This is done because you need to hang it somewhere in the middle for the hamster to play with it once it is done. Fold the square cloth in form of a triangular sandwich and continue until it is small enough to draw circles on its surface. Next is the easy part, cut out as many circles as possible and then open up its multi folds. It is time to hang the square mesh somewhere in the cage by attaching the edges at its rails or wherever applicable. Watch the hamster climb and cling onto it doing its leisure sports.
With the use of unwanted garments, one can make tiny T-Shirts for their little friend hamsters. This one can be more difficult than the first one as it requires some attention to detail and a fair amount of trials and errors. Nonetheless, the greater the challenge, the greater the fun. Start by doing a rough estimate pertaining to the diameters of the belly, the neck and the head of the hamster. Usually, they go only a few inches and not more. The mini T's should be easily worn by slotting them in through the heads. Next is to draw up the shape of a 'T' in their correct measurements and cut out 2 sides of the cloth by following the seams of the drawing. Sew together the necesarry sides of the double piece of clothes and leave open where necessary. Reverse fold the mini shirt and try it on the hamster already. Be gentle when you do this and do not attempt to force it in as it may result in pain to the hamster.
As much as hamsters love sleeping throughout the day, creating a mini pouch is another thing that you can make by utilizing unwanted clothes. There can be many ways to do this, but the easiest is to draw the shape of a leaf long enough to hang onto somewhere in the cage on both sides. Cut out 2 pieces of cloth based on their same size and sew up only one side of the seams. There you can hang the sleeping pouch somewhere in the cage and they would look like one of those little hanging tree sleepers. It is time to encourage your hamsters to sleep in them.
