Testimonies: Top ten cars you would like to own

by Jonathan Shen

Created on: July 01, 2010

What are some cars that I would like to own someday?  Maybe a Ferrari 599 GTB, or hell, even a Bugatti Veyron, the fastest and most powerful car ever built.  Everybody has a different taste when it comes to owning the top 10 cars of their dreams (both realistically and if money was no option).  The list I have compiled for my Top 10 is not really of some cars that are exotics, but are some cars that you may see being driven on the road every single day.  Tell me, how many Bugatti Veyrons or Ferrari 599 GTB’s do you normally see either pulling in a Ralphs supermarket parking lot, or taking your kids to grandma’s house every time?  Rarely to almost never, right?  A Porsche 911 or a BMW M3, maybe, if you are trying to tell your mother or mother-in-law that you are really not trying to show off by easing in the throttle of that high-revving V8 outside her house.  This list also consist of some cars that made me to believe that it is not really what is under the hood that counts; but a car also has to have some very fine lines on the exterior and interior.  Here is a list of some cars that I have picked to be my “Top 10 cars that I would like to own.”

#10:  Porsche 911 Turbo—The Subaru WRX is not the only car I have driven with a Horizontally-opposed Boxer-4 engine.  With a 0-60 mph time of just 2.9 seconds (yes, I said ‘2.9 seconds’), this car even blows the Nissan GT-R right out of the water in a straight-line.  With 500 horsepower from the tap in 100% all-aluminum block and heads, the Porsche 911 Turbo is a true sports car that you would take out onto a track; and look, it didn’t even have a “launch” control feature like the GT-R or even a VW GTI R32.

#9:  2011 Ford Mustang GT Fastback:  I should probably say that the back end of the new Mustang has had much of an improvement than what it was five years ago when it first had a total 100% refresh for 2005.  The top speed limiter has increased, and the displacement of the engine has increased to 5.0 liters to celebrate the return of the “original 5.0” from the 1980s.  412 horsepower for the GT, and I should probably point out that the regular V6 Mustang for 2011 has had a refresh engine-wise, also; 305 horsepower on tap with improved gas mileage of 31 mpg on the highway.  Try that on a 2010 V6 Camaro or Dodge Challenger R/T.  I also could not get over the
