Many diets encourage slow weight loss with the idea it will stay off easier that way. But when you make up your mind to lose weight, you want that weight off as fast as possible! Here are the three best diets to lose weight fast. Remember to always check with your doctor before trying a new diet.
THE OATMEAL DIET
The oatmeal diet is simple – 3 bowls of oatmeal per day, and drink water or clear fluids with it.This diet is based on glycemic index (GI) principles. Remember when your mother told you oatmeal would stick to your ribs? Well, in many ways that is true. Natural oatmeal, such as steel cut, is one of the best GI foods. This means it takes a long time for your body to metabolize it, and during that time you feel full. That means that a bowl of oatmeal will “stick” with you for much of the day. Once you reach your target weight, you can add various healthy foods to the oatmeal for breakfast and lunch while having a reasonable supper.
THE CABBAGE DIET
The cabbage diet is also simple – nothing but cabbage soup for a week solid. The idea behind this diet is that cabbage is high in fibre and low in calories. The soup will help keep your liquids up while the fiber helps you eliminate the toxins from your body. After a week on this diet, your body will be cleansed and you will be a slimmer and trimmer you! Once you reach your target weight, you can keep cabbage soup in your diet a few times a week to continue to see its benefits. One warning however, when on this diet you will be passing a lot of gas.
VEGETARIAN DIET
The vegetarian diet is less strict than the first two diets – you simply don’t eat meat. For the diet to be effective you also have to limit your starch intake from foods like potatoes, and avoid foods that are fried or cooked in oil or fat. In general vegetarians eat much higher amounts of fibre than most people, they get way more vitamins in their diet, and can even eat a properly balanced diet. Protein sources abound outside of meat when you start looking with beans and nuts only being two. The best part of all is that if you enjoy this diet you can stay on it as long as you like!
These are the three best diets to help you loose weight fast. They can all be adjusted to help you keep that weight off once you reach your target. However with any diet remember that you still need your vitamins and minimum levels of fat, protein, and other nutrients.
