I Think It’s Going to Rain
The autumn leaves dance down upon the earth
The seasons are a changing; creating a new birth
The roads are slippery when they get wet
Where did all the time go, I still haven't figured that one out yet
The moon glows brightly in the midnight's sky
It's going to rain soon like the tear drops in my eyes
Racing down all around me, with the rhythm of my heart
Beating ever so still; just once you did catch me off guard
The wind seems to blow, like thunder in the distance
The storm will be here soon; we have no resistance
As I walk quietly along the deserted road
Kicking a rock around just in front of my old home
I dreamt of this before and I know it wasn't for real
Good things just come and go. I didn't get a chance to feel
All that has transpired, like when the seasons change
It's getting even more cloudy now and I think it's going to rain
The air is so fresh and clean as the dew stands still on a blade of grass
The wind softly kisses my cheek then blows away as he laughs
Dancing to the beat as the rain hits the ground, singing a song all the while
I made it through just one more day, oh, how that makes me smile
To enjoy the dusk; I might even greet the twilight
Welcoming; yet another day with such an emotional high
I think of the things I went through, I can not believe I got this far
I smile to myself as I slowly walk away and get into my car
Finally starting a new life; saying good bye to the old
It's all about a new tomorrow; many stories will unfold
It's a new season now; I close my eyes as the seasons change
A whole new life is just beginning; and I think it's going to rain....
