Songs: Life

Created on: June 29, 2010

I have a yen

For a young girl friend

A girl just shy of twenty

Will suit me a plenty

She must be wise and fair

But not one haughty air

Chorus

Oh young Ladies of fun

Who will give this old man a run

Who likes diamonds and gold

Who will be the girl I hold

I am really not that old

For lady young I pledge my soul

It is more than a yen

That I seek a young friend

to a matrimonial end

I am earnest, I do not pretend

For it is written

That a mature man may be smitten

chorus

Oh young ladies of fun

who will give this old man a run

Who likes diamonds and gold

Who will be the girl I hold

I am really not that old

For lady young I pledge my soul

A young lady gentile and kind

But mostly have me on her mind

In the newspapers I have applied

To entreat a young beauty to be by my side

With modesty and pride we will abide

Chorus

Oh young ladies of fun

Who will give this old man a run

Who likes diamonds and gold

Who will be the girl I hold

I am really not that old

For lady young I pledge my soul
