There are no less than 100 government-accredited colleges and universities all over the country with certified undergraduate business curricula.
Of the many undergraduate business schools in the Philippines, the top six academic institutions are: University of the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, University of Asia and the Pacific, University of the East, and University of Santo Tomas. These universities are all located in Metro Manila, majority with satellite campuses in various parts of the country.
1. University of the Philippines (UP)
The University of the Philippines was founded in 1908 through an act of the Philippine Legislature (Act No. 1870) by authority of the United States. The university’s College of Business Administration manages the undergraduate business program that offers degrees of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accountancy (BSBAA).
The UP BSBA program is a general management course that gives students that option to specialize in a specific business discipline e.g. banking and finance, marketing, or management. The program fundamentally hones students to be professional managers and entrepreneurs. About 100 students enter the program every year. The BSBAA program is a 5-year integrated course, composed of the BSBA 4-year basic program plus the 1-year specialization in accountancy intended to train students to be public accountants, as well as professional managers and entrepreneurs. An average total of 80 new students enter the program annually.
The broad population of UP business graduates holding key positions in general management, financial, marketing and production disciplines across private and government sectors serves to confirm the effectiveness of the UP undergraduate business programs.
2. Ateneo de Manila University (ADM)
Ateneo de Manila University is a private academic institution founded in 1859 by the Society of Jesus (i.e. Jesuits). The University was one of the first schools in the Philippines that implemented the Magna Carta for Undergraduates.
