Whether athletes like it or not they are role models to thousands if not millions of kids throughout America. Unfortunately many of them don't act it and our society as a whole suffers. We see it all to often. Guys getting busted with drugs, being accused of murder, rape, and other horrible crimes has become what is just about an every day occurrence in the sports world.
The sad truth of the situation however is that these athletes probably won't be changing their image any time soon. So it is up to us as parents, family members, teachers, or whoever we may be to teach values to our children and show them that while that guy may be a great basketball player or pitcher he may not be a very good person.
As the world gets older more values seem to be getting lost in the mix, but it's time for us to make a stand against this type of behavior to show it's not okay.
