Poetry: Sleep

by Joanna Maharis

Created on: June 27, 2010

My eyes dance with the pollen and tree mold,

as the sleep seduces me both mind, body,

soul and spirit.

I gaze out my living room window as I sit

before my computer just typing away,

so I can keep my mind busy and my thoughts

active.

The crazed wind kisses the braches of my maple trees

as she shakes them along with the leaves, with her

sensuous breath.

Upon my white sheer curtains, the sun casts whispering

shadows of the leaves that are like bats flying towards

me to carry me off into the realms of savoring lands

that can only exist inside the seeds of my subconsciousness.
