Vintage clothes shopping is a rewarding way to replenish your wardrobe without having to worry about running into someone wearing a the same outfit. Not only is vintage clothing a fashionable and stylish but it is also incredibly unique, allowing you to experiment with clothing from another era.

Shopping for vintage clothing is a great way to create a fashionable and unique style without having to shop in the traditional way. It may be more time consuming than traditional shopping methods but it is well worth the effort because every piece you find will be unique and allow you the ability to create a stunning look at the fraction of the cost of shopping at a mall.

Buy Vintage Clothing Pieces that you absolutely Love

Many people make the mistake of buying a piece of vintage clothing because it is a nice style. However, just because it is a nice style or looks nice on the hanger does not necessarily mean you will love wearing it. Perhaps you like the style and cut but not the color or maybe you like the color but not the style.

The key to buying vintage clothing is to purchase only the items that you absolutely love and that you know you will wear on a regular basis – not something that will sit in your closet gathering dust.

Have you ever tried on a piece of clothing that you felt transformed your appearance? That made you look fabulous and accentuated all of your positive attributes? Remember how that shopping experience made you feel? Stick with that gut feeling and only invest in vintage clothing pieces that you love and that you know will make you look fabulous.

Buy Vintage Clothing that Fits

This may seem like a no brainer, however, have you ever loved a clothing item so much that even though it didn’t fit you properly you still went ahead and bought it? Most likely it just sat in the back of your closet until you came to terms with the fact that you would never, ever wear it. Why bother wasting money buying vintage clothing that you won’t wear because it does not fit properly.

Keep looking until you find a piece of vintage clothing that fits you like a glove and that you will cherish wearing. So, unless it fits, keep looking. Don't invest in vintage fashion pieces that you simply won't wear or don't fit in with your current style.

Do you like classic lines or flirty designs?  Are you a risk taker or do you prefer simple styles?  When shopping for vintage clothing make sure you stick to your preferred style.  While it is ok to experiment with different fashion styles it is also important to consider what you are buying, where you will where it and how it fits in with your current wardrobe.

Invest in fashionable vintage clothing items that will further enhance your current sense of style as well as complement your current wardrobe and fashion pieces.

Buy Vintage Clothing in Good Condition

When shopping for vintage clothing pieces make sure to filter out items that are in need of repair or that are beyond repair.  Check for signs of wear and tear and decide if the vintage clothing item is worth trying on.  Inspect each piece of clothing carefully for small tears, faded spots, stains etc. and then make the decision as to whether or not it is worth trying on. 

Shopping for and buying vintage clothing is an extremely fun experience when you know what to look for.  Vintage clothing can be an incredible fashion statement when you find the right item.
