Experiences renting a car with Enterprise Rent-A-Car

When it comes to renting a car with Enterprise, peoples experiences are typically either really good, or really bad, and not much in between. As an industry insider, I’ve worked alongside Enterprise for many years and have seen it all. I’ve also personally rented vehicles with them a couple of times over the years so I’m uniquely qualified to give two very different perspectives on their business practices.

I’ll start off on a positive note and explain the good. When it comes to customer service, Enterprise often goes above and beyond what any other car rental company does. While the other rental companies operate on a get them in and get them out basis, Enterprise always tries to give each and every customer personal attention and make sure they are completely satisfied before leaving the location. I have seen many occasions where an Enterprise employee refunded the entire cost of the rental back to a disgruntled customer. Mind you, this was under extreme circumstances, but nonetheless, excellent customer service on their part. They really try to do anything they can to make the customer happy even if it is at a loss for them.

Another great thing about Enterprise is that they are the only car rental company that will work directly with your insurance company. The first time I rented a car with Enterprise was because my car insurance company sent me to them. With the competitors, the customer rents the car out of pocket and then has to go through the process of getting reimbursed from their insurance company. With Enterprise, you don’t have to worry about any of this because Enterprise takes care of it for you.

I’ve also noticed great promotions offered by Enterprise over the years. There were times when they were offering weekend specials at rates of $10 per day. This was less than half of what the competitors in the area were offering at the same time. There were a couple of occasions where I ended up renting through them for weekend trips at this rate because it ended up cheaper for me to rent a car with them and drive it than it would have been for me to drive my own. This was because I drive an SUV that doesn’t get great gas mileage so renting a more fuel efficient car saved me tons of money on gas and also allowed me to avoid putting all the additional miles and wear on my personal vehicle.

Now that I’ve highlighted some of the really great things about Enterprise, I’ll get into some of the bad. First,
