Are you experiencing horrible bloat, swelling in your hands and feet to the point where you’ve had to buy a larger pair of shoes or gloves?  Perhaps you’re having difficulty falling asleep or waking up in the middle of the night, wringing wet with sweat, even in the middle of winter?  Maybe you can’t recall where you left your car keys or forget where you are parked while at the office or a store?  Are you irritable these days?  Easily frustrated by the smallest things?  All of these could be signs of “Peri” or full blown Menopause.

Are you sensitive to many medications or allergic to chemical substances found in many prescription and OTC medications?  Do you worry about taking HRT because of the cancer risk?  If you are one of the millions of women who are diagnosed as being, “Perimenopausal” or “Menopausal”, then perhaps alternative therapy is a good choice for you.

Alternative Medicine is often natural medicine; the stuff that people worldwide have used for centuries, for everything from the common cold to heart problems.   It is considered “safe” because not only has it been shown to be tried and true for centuries, but it has little or no side effects

Alternative medicine takes many forms, from herbs and vitamin supplements to Biofeedback, Reiki, Tai-Chi, Meditation, Visualization, Acupressure and Acupuncture, Massage Therapy, Aroma Therapy, Color Therapy, Stone Therapy and more.  Many people turn to Alternative Medicine and Therapies when conventional medicine and therapy fails; others utilize it to avoid negative or harmful side effects.  For whatever reason you want to engage in Alternatives, you are probably going to find something in that actually works for you.

Sometimes, all it takes are some diet and nutritional changes to relieve the agony of menopause.  Symptoms can interfere with daily life, to the point where it is just miserable or sheer agony.

Having experienced this, I have found that Acupuncture, Chiropractics, Meditation, dietary changes and herbal and vitamin supplements did work for me.

A daily visualization or meditation, 10 minutes to an hour, allows for better focus and concentration.  The mind is calm, so the overall body is calm. These exercises train your mind and body to concentrate and focus while allowing quiet time to slow or alleviate the negative effects of daily stress.
