If you are already running a small business, is it not going the way you would like? If you have not begun running one, are you looking for ideas on how to make it a hit? Whether you run a small business online or in a physical location, you must work hard to generate success. You will learn top techniques to use to create buzz.

You can personally go on the radio. There are some opportunities for people to appear as a guest on a radio show to promote themselves.

You can run a radio spot in your area. It should grab your listeners’ attention; repeat the most important point, your location and your telephone number a few times; and last for a minute.

You can run a television spot locally. It should highlight what you do and offer; feature your address and phone number at the bottom; and last for half a minute.

Running a print ad that does a great job of describing you in your local newspaper is another option. If you operate your company over the Internet, you should consider running an ad in magazines that reach your target market.

You can post your ad on billboards in your region. This ad should have ten or fewer words and generate excitement. For example, if you sell shoes, you can say, “Try John Doe’s Shoes! The Best Selections, the Best Quality!”

Using your local mass transit system to advertise is another option. You should consider running an ad on the buses, commuter trains and bus stop shelters.

You cannot always wait for people to come to you. If you are not getting enough foot traffic, you could benefit from getting out and chatting with others.

Did you forget about the classifieds? You can run one in your local paper as well as on the Internet. You should make your ad creative and try to get it placed in a prominent spot.

You can write press releases. They should be less than 200 words long and discuss what you have to offer customers.

You must make the most of your store. If you have not opened up yet, you should have a special grand opening that features a ton of awesome bargains. If you are already set up, you should occasionally give away some of your items for free.

You should try to draw attention to yourself in public sometimes. When you see others gathered together, you might announce, “Hey, everyone! Please check out my new store. We have many special items and bargains that should delight you!”

Try these ideas to create buzz for your small business!
