Was Mary Jesus’ mother? Yes she was!
Unfortunately, this question comes with much baggage because of Roman Catholic Mariology. Setting mythology aside, my yes answer is based on the biblical fact that Jesus was carried for nine month and was born of Mary 2000 years ago. On the one hand, this is a straight forward event of a birth that we are all familiar with. On the other hand, the serpent was more subtle than any other creature that the LORD God had made and introduced, through the Roman Catholic Church, the idea that Jesus existed as Jesus before He was born as Jesus. Even though the statement I just made is an oxymoron, the idea that Jesus existed before He was born is one of orthodox Christianities fundamental doctrine that is not to be questioned. After all, does not the trinity doctrine say: “Father, Son and Holy Ghost from all eternity?” You may not consider yourself to be a Catholic, but if you have accepted the Roman Catholic trinity doctrine that Jesus existed from all eternity, then you are Catholic nevertheless.

Ever since the creation of the world his invisible nature, namely, his eternal power and deity, has been clearly perceived in the things that have been made. So they [the Gentiles and even more so believers] are without excuse.” Now, dear reader is there any being, animal or man, in the created order that existed before it was born? Is not birth always a beginning, just as death is always an end?
Let’s get back to Mary. If Jesus existed before he was born of Mary, then Jesus’ existence cannot be explained according to the things God created, unless you or someone you know also existed before you or they were born! I hope that is not the case!
Who was Mary? Mary was an obscure peasant girl living in Nazareth when the angel Gabriel, who was sent by God, came to her and said, “Greetings, O favored one, the LORD is with you!”….”Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.” The Interpreter’s Dictionary of the Bible describes Mary’s character as: “The Mary of the New Testament represents all that was finest in Jewish womanhood and motherhood. Her deep spiritual sensitivity; her purity, faith, and obedience to the divine will; her scrupulous attention to the training of her son in the religious
