Why does the butterfly fly
So fast, so lightly, in an adorable flight
Her colorful wings look magical
I have, never seen such an angelic thing
Her rhythm is the soothing delight
My mind falls asleep, dreaming her shape
She flies and flies away from my sight
Endless gardens with flower-beds sweet she shall see
Oh! Cannot reach her. I am a wasp
This wasp clan with the deafening buzz scares her away
The wasp can pierce, sting and hurt
But can never kiss those sweet sweet butterfly winglets
The wasp clan roams one plain above hell.
The very blossoms that bloom smell of blood and of death.
She lightly floats; heaven is one step above.
Nectar from Daisies and Roses and Lilies she tastes.
She with angels and I with demons dwell.
Her memory remains and is now a curse; she’s lost.

Poetry: Flight of the butterfly
by Amy Erickson
With the ease of the wind
She silently floats
Showing off her colors
She brushes my cheek
Soft as a breath
Leaving behind

Slivers Of Memory
Slivers of memory
Flitting through time,
Like miniature white butterflies,

The butterfly
Gentle creature
On earth
I wonder if
It weighs less
Than an ant
Both move
As though they
Don't exist
Whatever they

Flight of the Butterfly
She moves naturally; with such ease
She takes flight; moves upon the world with the softest breeze
A wonder in flight
Beautiful butterfly floats
In a gust of wind.
