Poetry: The Holocaust

by Lamia Black

Created on: June 24, 2010

The burning times for those who were different.

Der Führer wants a pure, Aryan race.

He should look in the mirror.

The Romani, homosexuals, disabled and Jewish people are, either, brutally massacred, tortured, forced to work or gassed.

Their names are taken from them to be replaced with nothing but a number.

Once perished, incinerated.

The pain that they’ve gone through is unimaginable.

And I don’t want to imagine it.

All I can tell you is that they deserved better, far better than that.

Der Holocaust is now past, it’s memory leaves a gaping hole in the mind of everyone.

To those who perished will live on in our memory.
