Anarchy: The idea of a world without government

by Sanford Aranoff

Created on: June 23, 2010

My country, America, is entering a state of anarchy. People do what they want, ignoring rules, laws, and, yes, even the Constitution. People do this with impunity. This is widespread, and very dangerous to our security and prosperity. Let us focus our attention to the frequent lapses of law, and fight for what is right and for the rule of law. Let us fight for the greatness of the American ideals, and shout down those who say America is a bad country, having committed evil. We are not perfect. This is good, not bad, for perfection is impossible. We Americans must be proud of our goals and our way of life, and fight political leaders and interest groups that oppose and object to the American way of life.

Here are some examples. Two years ago the Big Three auto manufacturers testified in Congress. A Congressman asked them how they got there. They said they flew. This was not the way to respond in an official Congressional hearing. The correct proper response was saying Congress had no need to know how they got there, as Congress must not interfere with private business. Individual freedom from the government must be kept sacred. It is not valid to say that since they were asking for money they had to politely respond to all questions. They were not begging money from a wealthy source, but instead asking Americans to help the company for the self-interest of Americans. Any other reason is wrong. The punishment for giving information to the government that they should not have given was that the next day they drove down, rather than fly with their personal planes. Unfortunately, no one criticized Congress for asking this unacceptable question, not realizing that Congress' action in asking this question was an example of anarchy.

President Obama pressured BP to put up $20 billion into a fund to compensate victims of the oil spill. Congressman Joe Barton said this was a "shakedown". Eugene Robinson wrote that Republicans think "it's more important to kneel at the altar of radical conservative ideology than to feel any sense of compassion for one's fellow Americans." According to Robinson, the President did a good thing out of compassion. This goes along with Obama's ideal judge who has "compassion". This is contrary to the ideal judge in the Hebrew Bible who judges fairly, as it states, "You shall not pervert justice by having empathy for the poor or glorifying great people; instead, you shall judge your countrymen with justice." This principle is embodied
