She was a beauty, grandma
Would say and smile when thinking
Of Carmel, her first horse
But I know what she means
Carmel was not a horse
But a beautiful and dreamy wish.
If only wishes were horses!
What a statement, so many facts
And so many a lie
Wishes could never be horses
But they could be,
Dreams never come true
But they could.
I had all these unanswered thoughts
Till I had my first horse, Failure

Poetry: My first horse
by Carly Bird
Coarse mane wound in my fingers
Cold breeze on my face
We danced through the stubble
Of the corn field that day.
First Born
She is sleeping now
Floating high above
the heavens
Like a big white cloud!
She is my horse angel
A graceful dancer
by Moeze Lalji
My first horse
Came like
The body
Given to me
At birth
So excited
By a love
Unknown
Feeling my
Way
How this life
Works
How it
I woke up on my birthday,
feeling rather sick,
the night had been horrible,
the day was turning worse.
The spots confirmed
She was a beauty, grandma
Would say and smile when thinking
Of Carmel, her first horse
But I know what she means
Carmel
