Although many like to wear a traditional white wedding dress, you might want something different.  There are many wonderful alternatives to such a dress, and it will depend on your preferences.  The following are some to consider.

Wear Medieval garb

One fun idea is to have a wedding with a Medieval or renaissance theme.  You can wear the appropriate clothing to go along with this.  You can make it whatever color you want.  You may want a sparkling gold, a deep emerald or a deep ruby dress.  If you go to a Renaissance fair you will find many such gowns that you can purchase.  In addition, different costume shops sell such items and you will also find a lot of seamstresses that will custom make you a gown if you buy on it on a website such as www.ebay .com or

www.etsy.com.  The prices for these range, but they are often very much in line with the price of traditional wedding dresses.

Pretty in pink

Some women love this very feminine color.  They may prefer a pink dress to a traditional white one.  You might be able to find such a dress at a bridal shop.  Also, they make dresses like that for quinces that you can repurpose for a wedding.

Theme wedding

There are many ways to make a theme wedding and the bride’s wedding attire will depend on the particular theme.  For instance, if you both like superheroes, then you might want to dress up as Superman and Wonder Woman.  If you love to go scuba diving, then you can get married underwater in diving suits.  If you like the old west, then you can wear an old west costume as your wedding gear.  If you like things that are gothic, then you can wear all black for your wedding instead of all white.  Some people who love the beach will even get married in swimwear!  If you like some sort of character from a movie such as Shrek, then you can even don a costume and get married that way.  There is no right or wrong.  It is your wedding and you should wear whatever you want.

There are many fun alternatives to a traditional white wedding dress.  The prices for these range depending on what you get, and you can also try to put them together yourself if it is too expensive to buy them.  Try the above ideas when planning your wedding.
