Most memorable TV couples

When I think of TV couples, there are two phrases that instantly come to mind "sexual tension" and "on-again off-again". Sexual tension is the feelings the characters emote, showing us how they desperately want to be together. On-again off-again speaks for itself, we see the two get together and break up multiple times and we get to see them go through the roller coaster of emotions we call "romance". I'm only 18, so I haven't seen every single TV show ever written, much less analyse and judge them, but I'll name what I believe are the top 5 greatest TV couples of all time.

Before I start, there are some things I'd like to mention, there aren't any married couples, or couples that were married for the majority of the series, so no Homer and Marge, Archie and Edith or Lucy and Ricky and nothing from a teen drama, because let's face it, most really aren't that good anyway, so no Seth and Summer or Jason and Brenda. We all knew they were right for each other, we all knew they should be together, but they always seemed to have someone else on their mind. So throughout the first 3 seasons, they slowly sort out their mess, and become closer as friends, and then eventually reunite as a couple. Throughout the fourth and fifth seasons, we saw them get engaged and things were looking great, but then, Doug Ross was forced to leave County General because of misconduct. As Clooney's movie career took off, so did Doug Ross, all the way to Seattle, Carol pleads with him, in ER's most emotional non-medial scene, "I don't want to wake up alone tomorrow", but he leaves anyway, leaving behind Carol and unbeknown to him, two unborn baby girls. The romance comes a full circle when Carol herself leaves County General one year later, to reunite with Doug, allowing George Clooney to make a surprise guest appearance and finally
