I’m not like you

I don’t trample

Over other people’s feelings

I don’t use them

I don’t eat their souls

I don’t break their bones

And throw them all away

I’m not like you

I don’t simply

Leave them reeling

From the punches

I don’t discard them

I don’t choose to live

My life that way

But I fear that I’m

Becoming just like you

The very thing I hate

My anger lies in wait

I hope it’s not too late

As if they don’t exist
