Social networking is one of the most popular forms of media outlet that is out there for the purpose of being able to interact with others. As good as the intention was when it comes to using it; there have to be some consequences that would be involved. Of course, it could lead to some issues outside of it that could be a direct result of it. Without question, there are some items that should not be viewed publicly. All that can be said at this point is just be careful on how it is used. These items below are what not to use it for.
Don't use it to bash your workplace. The main reason for that is that somebody from within the company will go out of their way to check everyone on that. It can be from a Tweet or a blog post assuming that the profiles are public. If they are not, it still may not be wise whatsoever to even do such a thing. For one, your job could be lost rather quickly. If that does indeed happen, you’d better be certain that you can find a better job because if they see you posting negative material about them, you’re going to wind up in the dog house no pun intended.
Consistently using it for spam purposes is not exactly the way to go about it. There can be times to use it for promoting material but don’t be just making posts for the sake of making them. It doesn’t have much to add but just don’t do it because people will stop reading and think it has gotten rather annoying. Try to pace it and keep from going extremely overboard when it comes to updates.
Irritating people with social network sites will tend to get people to block you consistently or worse depending upon the feature. If you do that, there can be some potential problems and it’s not needed whatsoever. If anything, it would be best to say that it would be a good idea to keep away from the idea. It’s not worth getting yourself in trouble for doing something like that. It would be worse if not realizing it and that can happen without question.
There are other aspects that could be looked upon and it’s just something to consider. If you’re going to get involved with social networking, you’d best try to use it responsibly. If you don’t bother doing that, it would be highly recommended to stay away from them at this present time. Perhaps down the road would be the time to go for it but until then, don’t bother. They can be good but it’s not the tools that can be the problem, it’s generally the ones using and abusing them.
While social networking isn’t a bad thing, it should be noted that those items above should not be done in any way, shape, or form. If they are, then simply expect to have a lot of backlash or even being spammed directly. It is very important to respect others and don’t go all out on causing mayhem and chaos.
