How to have a great summer on your own

Created on: June 15, 2010

When you have little kids, you complain about taking care of them, and never getting any time to yourself. Before you know it, they grow up, leave home, and you are suddenly thrust into the world on your own. And you know what, you deserve to have a good time this summer.

No matter what age you are, it is time to lighten up and enjoy your summer. You should try to enjoy every day of your life. But when you are alone, it seems to become harder to do.

Therefore, i have written a how to guide on enjoying your summer on your own;

The first thing you need to do is wrap yourself around the idea, that no matter what you will have a great summer this year. Make the decision and stick to it. Get up early to enjoy the beautiful summer mornings that only last for several months. Sip tea outside while watching the sun come up. Go for an early morning nature walk with you dog, by yourself or with an early bird friend. go to your local park, beach or on a well traveled walking path. This way, you can get out early, get some exercise in and meet and greet other happy people like yourself. You will feel your inner happiness rise to the surface, while it may last the entire day.

Make certain that you do something different to enjoy summer every day. Getting up earlier to enjoy the longer, sunnier days can be a good start. Catch a baseball game. You can even go to a local high school game and start a conversation with another person near you. Catch an outdoor concert. Just being amongst many people will lighten your spirits and you may make new friends. Try an early morning exercise class outside. You will make new friends at your new class also. Before you know it, you will have so many friends, you will become a very popular person, and you won't be alone anymore.

Plan a day off, away from home. Plan a day to enjoy something you always wanted to do. Be selfish and enjoy. Get a massage and a manicure. Go to a museum none of your family members wants to go to.Take a book to read, and a radio to listen to. You can go to the beach for the day, a park, or a daylong concert event. Tell yourself, "Why not, you only live once."

What else can you do to enjoy your summer alone, with your loved one far away? Make a meal only you want to eat. Light candles, and sit outside enjoying a warm night alone. Remember the bug spray,so that you don't become a meal for bugs. Relax while listening to music, soaking up the warm, humid night air. Go for a walk, and talk to neighbors you haven't seen in awhile.

Have a great summer on your own. It's easy to do, because summer is the season when many people come outside. join a group, club, exercise class, go golfing. Do something you have always wanted to do.
