The politics of big money: Comparing Democratic vs Republican candidates on campaign funds

on this list. Think about that - not only did our tax money cover their salaries, but it also allowed them to make over $38 Million in campaign contributions... Your tax money at work!

Number 2 on the list is AT&T, Inc., which is shown as "on the fence" with almost $37M in donations.

Number 3 is the National Association of Realtors, also "on the fence: with just over $30M in donations.

Number 4 is the National Education Association - the teachers' union - at just over $27M in donations, with over 90% going to the democrats. Yet another group of government employees topping the donor's list. The NEA's big issue is preventing parents from the right to decide where their children go to school vis-a-vis the school voucher program. Liberals are all about a woman's right to choose - as long as the choice has to do with killing unborn children. If the right to choose has to do with a mother choosing where she wants her child to receive an education, you're on your own there. You see, this protects teachers from having to compete for their jobs, and it is the American children who have suffered the consequences, falling near the bottom in international comparisons in math and science. Unfortunately for the NEA, in a rare stroke of brilliance, the Supreme Court did rule in 2002 that vouchers are Constitutional. Maybe one day, families will actually have the ability to exercise this Constitutional right to decide where to send their children to receive the best education possible.

Number 5 on the list is the American Association for Justice. The total contributions from the AAJ total more than $27M since 1989, with over 90% of that going to the Democrat coffers. One can always tell a liberal organization, because its title is usually a disguise for a completely different agenda. You might know this organization better as the ATLA (American Trial Lawyers Association), which is less about justice than it is about money. The AAJ lobbies Congress on any legislation that may inhibit the ability of consumers to bring lawsuits, which is a primary reason for today's health-care being so outlandishly expensive. The AAJ, along with the Democrats, gives us the ability to treat courtrooms like slot machines, resulting in increased insurance rates for doctors and hospitals, which result in higher health-care costs affecting our premiums, and no real improvement in medical procedures. But the trial layers and the democrats certainly profit, don't they?

For the sake of time and space,
