If you have children, you know you need to have activities planned for summer break. Once the kids get out of school, they are bored by the second day. When you are a tween it is even worse. This is the age where you have so much energy and nothing to do. Most tweens are confident enough to make things up to do or maybe they are lazy. Either way, parents are going to be called upon to solve the dilemma of not having anything to do. So be prepared.
Summer Camp - A great vacation for you too is to let your child go to summer camp. If you plan on sending your child to summer camp be prepared by registering early and saving money for the expenditure.
Family Vacation - A family vacation is a great way for everyone to relax and have fun doing what you want to do. If you have time off that you want to spend with your children on the go, a family vacation is the perfect choice for a summer activity for your tween and you.
Camping in the Backyard - Most tweens want to go camping. For a summer activity, you can let your child sleep in the back yard. Let your tween have marshmallows and a fire and camping will be the best summer activity.
Pool - Whether it is a wading pool or a swimming pool, kids love to be in the water. If you have a tween who wants nothing more than to be wet, let them play in a wading pool. My nephew is ten and he still loves splashing through the wading pool with friends to see who can get all the water out of the pool. Set up a watering hose or a sprinkler and the tween in your life will be content.
Sprinklers - A kid’s favorite activity usually includes getting wet. My tween loves to jump in puddles. For a summer activity to keep your tween cool and busy, set up a sprinkler. If you do not have a sprinkler, you can attach a water hose for your tween and either spray them or let them spray themselves. This is a great summer activity if you want to do something with your tween.
Beach - If you enjoy going to the beach, you might enjoy taking your tween to the beach. It can be a summer activity both of you enjoy.
Daily Activities - Have daily activities for your children. Remember they are going to get bored of watching television or playing video games. Keep them active even if it is setting up crafts for them to do. Make sure you always have the standby “Clean up your room if you need something to do” on the tip of your tongue. This will be sure to send your tween into an endless realm of possibilities.
