Ways to improve emotional balance in your life

Emotional balance comes at a high price. How do we achieve emotional balance when almost every thing in our lives seems a little off kilter.  A balancing act may require just placing one foot in front of the other. It  may be a slow, at times tedious, process. Our emotions run a wide gamut of highs and lows. The trick, may be to expect the highs and lows and just go with it. Absolutely, nothing stays the same. Our lives are steadily evolving.  At times, the process of evolution may make you feel unbalanced and unsure of the future.

Every life is lived in one of three stages. These stages are the past, present and future. This is where the emotional balancing act comes into play. We can only live in the present, and be mindful of the future and all we can ever do about the past is, remember it.  Juggling those three concepts will allow emotional balance into our lives.

Too many people rely on prescription drugs or tranquilizers to deal with these so called "emotional imbalances. Life changes may dictate our feelings of upset or  emotional imbalance. We all have to gain control of our emotions at some point in our lives. Some will rely on spiritual concepts, such as prayer and meditations.

The process has to be addressed and worked through. There are no quick fixes. Enduring this process with grace is called for. We must be mindful, not to allow others to judge us or hurry us through this personal matter.  Our experiences, both good and bad are unique to us. How we handle them and discipline our mindset, not to let an emotional imbalance take us completely out of the game of life.

Many times, we have heard  the saying, "adversity builds character."  So look upon this period in our lives, this time of emotional imbalance, as an adversity and not as a character flaw. We may all feel this way at times.  Remember, "This too, shall pass."

Evolution is a continual process and we can not stop the world and get off.  Accepting, this fact  will aid us in establishing our balance. Remember the skills we used as a children,. We will have to position ourselves and be ready to break our fall if we must.

Our future is ahead of us. The detours should never set us off-balance. It's not very complex, just stay the course. Emotional imbalance, is never desirable.  Regaining our balance is the goal we all hope for.
