Never To Be
Take me for what I am, for me.
Not him, not her, but me.
You don't see me
in the forest beneath the tree;
Growing up and growing free.
Unknown to those that see;
those that care not for me.
You are the one that I see
but to not want me.
For value you seek-you see,
and you see none in me.
No matter how hard I plea
for you to see me.
The real me.
You and me will never be.
Lucky to be you instead of me.
