Soul mates: A new definition of relationships

Soul mates exist and encountered upon occasion by many. This does not mean there is a going to be a romantic relationship resulting from the encounter. In fact, many encounters do not result in a romantic relationship- like the result of the very mystifying and disorienting effect of the encounter. The title implying this is a new definition of relationships is likely the result of the term being loosely used to imply one’s partner is the equivalent of a “soul mate,” or perfect counterpart.

I have enclosed a treatise involving an actual song written with respect to the soul mate experience as related by Bob Dylan in, “Rainy Day Women #12 and 35. The reason for the inclusion is to provide tangible evidence the experience occurs and people really encounter it. Not unlike religion, the definitions and proof remain elusive and intractable. This does not mean people do not encounter soul mates. Similarly, the encounter does not imply relationship. The encounter is transcendental, which seemingly points to some intangible aspect of the timelessness of existence. Synonymous with the, “web of life,” form of connectedness implied in recent theatrical illustrations like “Avatar,” an older movie would be the Star Wars notion of, “the force.”

Nevertheless, some souls experience a connection that is both uncanny and unique, but this does not imply a romantic relationship is the unspoken result. Seemingly, there can be many reasons for the connection, which may be a far deeper meaning than the simple pursuit of reproduction. Perhaps, they were in a relationship in some previous encounter and through necessity are not to be connected in this life because of some other task. Who really knows?

Similarly, the entire soul mate experience is barely comprehensible let alone relevant for explanation. Consequently, the enclosed assay of Bob Dylan’s work explains in detail the points he was making for similar reasons. The following is simply excerpts designed to support the point of the soul mate phenomena,

“Literally, no one who has ever listened to this song on the radio without knowing the author would think the song is entitled, "Rainy Day Women # 12 and 35," preferring to refer to it as "Everybody must get stoned," or some derivative of that. Herein lays the beauty of the endeavor conveyed by the title explaining the purpose of the song in a fashion synonymous with Dylan's gelastic witticism. That is because
