Looking for somewhere fun to go in San Diego? You'll have plenty of choices for both adult and family fun in the area, with lots of great places to go.
The San Diego Zoo is one of the best and largest in the country. An elephant topiary greets you into the zoo that offers an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean. The zoo has more than 4,000 animals of over 800 species, including exhibits such as the Polar Rim, Urban Jungle, Elephant Oddyssey, and the Panda Canyon. In addition to the fantastic animals, the San Diego Zoo has more than a million beautiful plants on 1,900 acres in the Botanical Gardens. The zoo is great for kids and adults alike, with a special kids zone with special play areas and learning.
San Diego has tons of other fun places you'll want to go. Belmont Park is one such place. Located in the Mission Bay area of San Diego, Belmont Park is an amazing,historic amusement park filled with wooden rollercoasters, a three-story drop tower, and many other rides. Birch Aquarium is also a great day of fun. Inside this Aquarium you will find more than 60 different species of marine life, including fish, jellyfish, seahorses, whales, sharks, and more. Special exhibits allow you to bring the underwater life to hands on experiences. The Tide Pool Plaza allows visitors to touch and feel tide water animals( such as jellyfish) while learning more about the animals. There's also a fantastic exhibit called The Art of Deception. Finally, head over to Seaport Village for an exciting day of dining and shopping, overlooking the San Diego Bay. Seaport Village features more than 50 unique gallerias and eateries, from specialty shops such as the Greek Island Cafe and A Few of My Favorite Things to Assaigos Pizza Plus, and fantastic candy shops. Seaport Village is more than 90,000 square feet of fun, which also includes a marina and a lagoon. All of this is located on beautiful waterfront property.
