I believe marriage vows still hold true and its sacredness is not lessen or diminutive by time. The bond that unites husband and wife and God is as strong as ever, not diminished by any human weakness. But sad to know it is the two individuals who promised "for better or for worse, in sickness or in health, till death do us part" made the sacred vows lessen its power and impact. They are the ones who stupidly reject the meaning of it, taunts the holiness of it, distorts the very essence of it.

People I believe in this era tend to divert from being traditional. Yes we can see people getting married all around in any forms, church weddings, garden weddings, cruise weddings and for those unconventional and adventurous one, underwater and sky diving weddings. The character of marriage itself is taken not seriously by the passing of time. Gone is the good old days where you can count on fidelity, sincerity and faithfulness of each partner. Every vows being uttered in the holy matrimony turn into mere words. It 's supposed to be recited by heart, inculcating the very essence of the words in everyday married life.

We can see the ruins of marriage in show business, the promiscuous trend poeple in normal life have seen and heard in the media. Divorces, separations, court settlements for the custody of the kids, these things made a lie of the vows they once shared with their partners. It's like marriage is just a game where people can turn their back from the vows they made because it didn't turn out the way they expected it. It's like changing clothes the minute they see it doesn't fit their life style anymore.

God is still faithful and will always be. He designed marriage to be enjoyed with. The Bible said something about "let no man separates what God has joined". Unfortunately this has been tainted with hypocrisy, unfaithfulness, adultery, and mockery. Marriage has its own struggles but that doesn't make it breakable. It doesn't reduce the character of marriage to obsolete just because a lot of people end up being divorce.

With the rise of technology and advancement of science marriage seems to crumble down. Technology liberates the mind and science questions the existence of everything. When the focus gets away from the conventional traditions the old ways are usually being side pass. Marriage if not resuscitated it will not survived. Marriage is an old tradition that many takes for granted.
