How to get paid for talking on the phone

by Ms. Marie

Created on: June 13, 2010

Having a home telephone is a means of communication and an expense.  Today you can turn your home phone into a money making machine, well you can use it to make money from the comfort of your home.  Are you tired of paying to talk on the phone?  Those minutes, plans and long distance calls can add up pretty fast.  Do you know how to get paid for talking on the phone?

Most people frown at telemarketers and phone sales folks.  This is probably due to the few unprofessional and pushy phone reps who don't respect a person's rights.  However, getting paid to talk on the phone takes a lot of skills.  When you have a problem with an account and call customer service do you want to speak with a real person who can assit you in a timely and professional manner?  It takes a very special person to do that.

There has been a steady increase of home based jobs available today, using that old landline in your house to bring in some extra income is an opportunity worth considering.  If you like working in an office environment with several co-workers a telemarketing, customer service or phone sales job is nothing to be ashamed of.  Many phone reps earn a base pay and commission which can really add up if you learn the skills needed to do the job in a professional way; this includes respecting the applicable laws involved.

For those who would like to work from home or need the flexibility of working from home phone work is a great way to suppliment your income; some people earn their living this way.  There are many reputible companies that hire at-home agents to make outbound calls or recieve inbound calls right from the comfort of their own home.  Some companies will hire you as an employee while other companies use the service of Independent Contractors.  Either way you may earn an hourly wage with bonuses, or you may be paid for the actual time you spend talking on the phone based on a per minute rate; for example $0.25 per minute.

Will you get rich talking on the phone, probably not, but consider how much you're paying right not to talk on a telephone.  Ask yourself this, is there any reason one should be ashamed to be a phone representitive or telemarketer if they are getting paid to do what millions of people are paying thousands upon thousands of dollars to do every day - talk on the phone.

At home moms, studenets, seniors and those with disabilities can become part of the workforce and feel productive, learn how to get paid for talking on the phone by doing a careful Internet search that will unveil several companies that charge you nothing to get started. Get paid to talk on the phone and start making money; three things most homes today have is a computer, Internet access and a telephone and that is all it takes to turn talk into dollars.
