In recent years a trend in cars has started to resurface. Muscle cars. For the uninitiated, a muscle car is generally a high performance, moderately priced car. the muscle car died out during the early 70's mostly due to the advent of emissions sytems which crippled horsepower numbers, and gas shortages that persuaded America to buy smaller more fuel efficient cars. but recent development have enable the big three to revive some of their most recognizable names, Shelby Mustang, Charger R/T, and my personal favorite, the Camaro. now, with modern technology, the consumer has the option of performance, without sacrificing economy. a big displacement V8 of today gets as good or better than a V6 a few years ago. For gear heads like myself, the return of the muscle car couldn't have come sooner. anyone who has ever owned or driven a high torque, high horsepower car is hardly satisfied with your average family sedan. Also, as opposed to the muscle of yesteryear, adding a few extra ponies doesn't take a mechanic, but a computer chip thats as easy as plugging in a television. so as the American market is flooded by dull, passionless, cars, a select few souls keep the spirit of horsepower rolling on. because you can make a minivan do wheelies, but it aint easy, or cheap.
