Who does not like to be pampered...?We all do. And there is no better way the pamper yourself than visiting a spa. It is even better if the spa comes to your own home. Relaxing in a cozy place, you are familiar with and dozing off as soon as the spa therapy is done with, is appealing. And not to mention you do not have to pay the bill or tip anybody. A very pleasing thought indeed.
But this thought comes with a slight risk, in case you do want a spa treatment and that too by yourself and at your own home. At professional spa salons, as the name suggests, there are professionals to treat you. They make sure that the products they use are of good quality and suit your skin type. They are aware, for exactly how long these products should be in contact with your skin so that they do not cause any allergy or skin damage. So if you do want a spa treatment all your own at your home, do it the natural way without any chemical based products.
Our kitchens, if well scrutinized double-up as spa cabinets full of natural products without the slightest fear of allergies or skin damage. Lets start with the facial, cleanse your face with a home based scrub. A face scrub made of rice flour and milk is effective and non abrasive, rub it all over the face and neck in circular motion for about 3-5 minutes. Rinse with luke-warm water. To tone your face, use rose water or a few drops of lemon juice in a tablespoon of water. And for a moisturizing massage use honey or yogurt or a mixture of both. Rinse your face with water. If you need a mask instead, chickpea flour with rose water, milk or plain water is the best. Apply a thin layer and let it dry completely before washing it off. Apply some rose water all over the face and neck and you are done. For a whole body scrub, coarsely ground rolled oats with yogurt or honey works best. And so does chickpea flour with milk, the choice is entirely yours. Even the hair can be taken care of at the home spa. to moisturize the hair try applying some yogurt before shampooing an hour later. If you want a slight color, rinse you hair with a black tea concoction before the last rinse.
To create a spa-like ambiance is not difficult either. Light some scented candles, put on some soothing music and prepare mint tea or a fruit juice. Dim the lights and begin with few minutes of just relaxing your mind and letting go of all your worries. And do not forget to conclude the spa therapy by taking a nap.
