“Miles Apart”
I was standing on a mountain
Outside a driving rain.
My mind was fully dusted,
My eyes were filled with pain.
I tried to catch an angel
Attach her to my heart.
Instead, I found a stranger, andThen we grew apart.
If we were born to be together
Don’t you think it’s time that we better
Stop trying to feeeeel!
Like we’re miles apart?
We could not find the answers
We both were want to see.
She said her name was lonely
And mine was destiny.
My eyes grew round with wonder
As I watched this tale unfold.
I merged into a clearing
From a wasteland so cold.
If we were born to be together
Don’t you think it’s time that we better
Stop trying to feeeeel!
Like we’re miles apart?
I stood before a picture
Of a soul-bleeding heart.
She was tongue-tied with emotion
Her mask described the part.
She sang like Aphrodite
And cast a wicked spell.
My body felt the siren
My heart began to quell.
If we were born to be together
Don’t you think it’s time that we better
Stop trying to feeeeel!
Like we’re miles apart?
To tell you this my story
Is but a distant rhapsody.
A tale of glistening wonder
Laid bare for all to see.
Her vibes of distant thunder
Transfix me from above
Our souls are bound together
By the Gods of love…The Gods of love…The Gods of love…
The Gods of love…
