There is going to be an upcoming season that is going to be wide open. The Saints right now are the defending Super Bowl Champions. With the 2010-11 NFL season coming up soon, it’s going to be a division that anyone can take. Anything can happen as proven with the NFC South, sometimes the team that falls into last place can turn around and win the division. It’s going to be interesting but here is a perspective on the matter.
Carolina Panthers
It’s going to be a division where Carolina could have some trouble. They got rid of Delhomme but that doesn’t mean a last place team. They just don’t seem like a team that is ready to go out of their way to win the division. They seem to be in a rebuilding year and now trying to get the new Quarterback Jimmy Clausen ready as soon as possible to be the face of the Panthers organization. They could be last but it may not be a horrendous record. Looking at it from that perspective, they could be a last place team but not be horrible.
Tampa Bay Bucs
They were not that good last year but could improve just slightly. Then again, it many not matter so much and they could turn around and just be horrible. As a whole, the team just needs some serious work in order to seriously improve themselves and attempt to be one of the best teams in the NFL. Could they be a surprise team? Yes, because in the NFL, anything can happen. It isn’t likely but they will probably finish third in the NFC South, possibly one of the weakest divisions in all of the NFL.
Atlanta Falcons
The Falcons have a solid team and see to have a bit of a foundation built. They may have found their Quarterback and it seems to be a battle for them in the division. It’s going to be a heavily contested division with the Falcons being the biggest threat but that’s just a guess. The Falcons are going to be good but probably finish second place in the division.
New Orleans Saints
Drew Brees is going to have some serious momentum going into the season. Last season, they ran away with the division and shocked the world by winning the Super Bowl. This season, Brees is on the cover of Madden, which should be a disaster waiting to happen. The Saints have the talent to take the division once again. Whether they can repeat and win the Super Bowl is another story. They are going to be expected to take the division.
The NFC South can be considered competitive but it is actually wide open for a change. Anyone can take it and that’s just a fact. Stranger things have happened and for all anyone can figure out, the exact opposite could happen as well.
