Just So You Know
You swore that you loved me not so long ago
But I'm starting to wonder if that was really so
And maybe you sort of even lied to me
But I was too dense and could not see
Now I don't know, and I might be wrong
But I think you knew that all along
Old friends come and visit me off and on
And wonder out loud where you could have gone
But friends they come, and friends they go
I just laugh and tell them that I don't know
Although you ran off with all that I had
I wasn't really feeling all that bad
Since lately I noticed you were getting fat
But I was too nice to tell you that
And those pots and pans that you also took
Could come in handy if you ever learn to cook
And the TV you know, is no longer on
Both day and night since you have been gone
This peace and quiet suits me just fine
So I thought that maybe I would drop you a line
I layed awake all through the night
Just deciding what I would write
And if it woud not be asking too much
Drop me a line and keep in touch
