Lip gloss for sure! A lipgloss wins over a lipstick hands down any day... Lipsticks more often than not tend to make you look a little older than usual. Most makeup artists, use a lip pencil and a gloss together or a lip gloss alone. This method is considered a quick fix, unless you are one of those kinds to go for those perfect red lips! In this day and age, where most of us are either studying, working or running a busy life, lip gloss is a life saver. It comes in a variety of shades and finishes and the packaging is absolutely adorable.

So here is my take on why I prefer lip gloss over lipstick.. Keep reading for I also give out some of the best ones that you could try.

1. The sheen you get from a lip gloss can never be matched by a lipstick. you can go subtle, you can go all out and show off that pout...

2. Lip glosses can be easily reapplied without a mirror... You can actually just shut your eyes, apply them and be on your way

3. I don't know if others have noticed, but for me, lip glosses last a longer time that lipstick.

4. You can just grab a lip gloss, throw it in your purse and get going... you can never put too much on and glosses won't really smudge.

5. Last but not the least.. Sheen, sheen, sheen! I think I have already mentioned that... but it is totally worth it.

There are so many brands out there in the market and it is really hard to choose one good one. There are department store brands like MAC, Shisiedo, Laura Mercier, Bare Escentuals, and then there are the drugstore brands like Maybelline, Revlon, L'oreal and so on.

Many make up artists say not to spend too much on a lipstick or a lip gloss. A drug store brand works just as well and infact better than many of the big brands out there.

Here are a few basic guidelines while choosing a good lip gloss

1. Look at the formulation. Some of them which say that they are will give your lips that pout, normally have a very strong feel to them and will tingle your lips. For me , these never worked and really sting my lips. I stay away from these.

2. Look at the brands to an extent. Revlon, Maybelline and L'oreal make some awesome glosses for all skin tones.

3. Go for a subtle shade fr the day and a glossier one for a night out.

4. Some great brands that you ought to give a try are : L'oreal Infallible Lip color, Urban Decay pocket rockets, Stila lip glaze,  MAC of course and then Benefit!

Cheers

Mysteeque.
