It should be said
Better than done
because the words are truth
and actions are hidden lies
That we wish to believe
In spite of our minds bidding truth
Walking away only so far
To be pulled back by string
And made to walk that line of doubt
Streaking the steps with fear
Yet remebering the promise
How it shattered into bits
And died in pieces
Pleas and cries held in the wind
Expressed no remorse of your pain
It swam away too soon
Yet held on for too long
Those were
Broken promises

Poetry: Broken promises
by Jenifer Rose
Sometimes it seems
I've spent most of my life
Hoping someone, somewhere
Would keep a single promise to me
They are made
When I said it, it was true, it stood out clearly proven by the shadows it cast on the path ahead of us,
As we walked I
There are times in your life
When even those you love
Should be struck down by vengeance
From the Heavens up above.
Don't
Promises made and broken,
Hopes raised and then dashed.
Sweet words have been spoken,
But My Darling, is this the time promises
Broken Promises
When the wind blows,
You give me a promise.
When the seagull crows,
You give me a promise.
When it's the light
