Happiness and self esteem walk hand-in-hand. You can’t have one without the other. We as humans struggle more with self esteem issues than most anything else. If you don’t feel good about you simply nothing else is going to work with any real level of sustained success.
The wonderful thing about self esteem is you can change that now. Self esteem is usually tied to events of your past. Things you did that you are sorry for yet continue to beat yourself up over. Your past does not define who you are today. You can not change the past but you can change your now. Be in the moment.
If you forgive yourself of your past indiscretions even if no other person will. Forgive yourself. People are inherently good; we all make mistakes and do dumb things we are supremely sorry we did. This does not condemn you to a life of nothingness. When possible you can make amends to people that you may have hurt in some way. Most importantly forgive you. OK you messed up, but you can change your thought process, never do it again and make an amends to anyone you have hurt where possible.
Let’s say your self esteem you have allowed someone significant in your life to bring you down. Ogres that would tell you that you are not worthy, stupid, fat, ugly, etc. Perhaps it was a parent or spouse, someone very close to you. Let me be the first to tell you; your not stupid, fat or any other expletive. Not one person on this planet is in control of you. People who think they are in control of another. That person is simply using “bullying” to mask their own irretrievable ignorance and stupidity. You are in control of you, always. Do not allow others to walk over you, set a boundary. These situations can be most difficult to change, but you can change them. You have the power to be who you want to be, no matter what others might say.
Begin now to take charge of your self esteem. When you do happiness and success will follow. You are in control of your own bliss. Your past or persons do not define who you are. You define you by your actions. Let your actions be healthy, positive and about you. When you are happy with you, everything else falls into place. Doors you never imagined will begin to open.
