Whether or not we should believe the concept of the Trinity is truly a matter of personal choice after being learned on the subject at hand. After all, we cannot make a choice if we do not have the information that we need in making an “informed” choice one way or the other.
I have to say though I have grown weary of Church Doctrine that I have found through research, study and personal experience to be void of substance for the most part. I am a Celtic Christian, a rather devout one I might add, but I am also a Metaphysician, deeply involved with metaphysics and I use empirical-type study to arrive at conclusive results. In addition to my own independent studies I also draw on worldly knowledge and the experiences of other people.
For much of my life I had believed in the “Triune God”, the equivalent of the Trinity in western Christianity. However, my research, study and first-hand personal experience have shown me the “Trinity” in somewhat of a different light or perspective. I was led to believe by Church Doctrine, Catholic mostly, that the Trinity consists of 3 elements; when in fact I discovered it (the Holy Spirit), really only consist of 2. To prove my theory to myself, if no one else, I began Bible Study, initially with Christian Leaders of the Anglican Church in my local area, including a Christian Counsellor. However, within a very short time I became not only disheartened but also frustrated by the many contradictions when I began asking questions. I was, needless to say quite mortified once I discovered my questions could not be answered with confidence in any acceptable logical and rational manner. For example, I was asked; “what do you think God is then”, when I responded by saying – “God is an Energy Of Being (a Spirit out of body, or the equivalent of what some people might experience as Out-Of-Body Experiences or OBE). With that, I was quickly cut-short and “told” – “no, God is a Spirit”. Instantly alarm bells began going off in my head as I realized naturally enough that a “Spirit” and “Energy” are one of the same. I doubt few could debate against the fact that “Spirit And Energy” are in essence of the same “electrical” composition. This example I have indicated here is only one of many hundreds of contradictory arguments and statements I was subject to hearing and expected by these people to
