When you think of romantic vacation destinations, what is the first thing that comes to mind? If you are like most people then you are probably thinking of a southern destination, with a golden beach and nice warm weather. This is what most people think - Mexico, Jamaica, or Hawaii. People often forget that there are other areas around the world that offer great romantic vacations without the beaches and warm weather. If you are thinking about taking a romantic vacation you might want to consider somewhere less obvious. For example why not travel to Vancouver Island in Canada, where you can simply jump on a ferry and be taken away to an area that will offer you one of the greatest outdoor experiences that you may ever have. On the island itself there are a number of small towns that offer vacationers a quiet romantic experience that they will never forget.
If you are looking to travel to somewhere exotic but at the same time romantic then why not forego the beaches and crowds and travel to Rome or Venice. Here you can see some of the world’s most beautiful buildings and sites. If you are looking for romance what better place than to travel to the home of Romeo and Juliet, one of the world’s most famous couples? If you are not interested in big cities then you can spend your time travelling to the smaller more quaint villages around the countryside.
If driving or flying is not for you then there are a number of cruise lines that offer romantic cruises to vacationers young and old. Surprisingly enough travellers have rated an Alaskan Cruise and as being on the most romantic cruises that you can go on. Second to this is a Caribbean Cruise. While on a cruise you can enjoy the relaxation and comfort of having everything you need onboard the ship but then you have the extra excitement of having the chances to go to difference ports of call where you can experience the history and excitement of the area.
Sometimes a vacation can be as romantic as you want it to be. There is often no need to spend a great deal of money on an expensive trip but rather you can find a small bed and breakfast in some small town where you can just enjoy the company of the person you are with the environment around you.
