Poetry: Bad friends

by G E Barr

Created on: June 07, 2010

They gather quickly with plans

At your expense

Fonder memories gather in gutters

It was there in the faces all along

The truth you didn't see

For want of friends

Loneliness does that

On dreary days when yourself is locked

Away

A hundred miles away and disappearing

Replacing your space with bad friends

Passing the time

Long enough for yourself to go away

Anywhere

Just not near
