You have probably thought about getting a poodle, but you don´t know what characteristic they have or anything about them. Below are some facts that will tell you all about them! You will also need to go to your local pet shop and see what they recommend to you about this type of dog breed.

History:
The poodles where first seen in Germany, but everybody thinks they are a French dog breed over the years past. Their name means “to splash in the water.” They are called that because they are good swimmers and very good hunters. The poodle breed is considered to be the oldest breed in the world. The poodles have also been known as performance dogs.
Size and Color
poodle's are divided in two types of breeds the Standard weighs 45-70 pounds, the Miniature: 15-18 pounds, and the Toy: 5-9 pounds. You can find poodles in many different colors such as, White, Black, Grey, Brown, and Apricot. They will always be solid colors.
Health Problems
If you be careful with the type of breed you mix when you breed your dog, you can prevent many health problems. These are the problems you should look for: Progressive Retinal Atrophy, Addison's Disease, Cushing`s Disease, and Patellar Luxation. If you take care and watch what you dog does you can also prevent certain disease.
Facts about the Breed:
The poodles are considered to be a very intelligent type of dog breed. They have 3 different types of sizes. Standard, miniature, and toy- This makes this type of breed very well known. You can teach poodles to do a variety of tricks, they are very smart dogs. They are good companions and they are used in performances.Like all of us now the poodles have curly hair. Since their hair grows very fast it needs a lot of care. The hair style shows that the poodle is one more of many hypoallergenic dogs.Poodles have lots of energy! You will have to exercise them daily. Take them out for walks, play with them, ect. You will need to take you dog to the veterinarian regularly to make sure it is healthy. If you keep your dog healthy it will probably live for a long time.
The Poodles would be a great type of dog breed for you if you have time to exercise them or if you have children that would play with it.
