The fire burning gently
Is a Goddess
In golden robes.
We watch her elemental dance
Of brilliant colour
And beauty.
The fear that she creates
With her burning temper,
Belching ash, smoke, sparks…
Conceals her magnificence.
Her divinity;
A timid friend of
Ferocious emotion.
A spiritual spectrum
With a calming crackle and
Gentle pops of laughter.
She remains a companion,
In the cold, the dark, the danger
Of lonely places.
