If you’re feeling the pinch these days life can be pretty stressful. Likely your spending more time at home than you used to, and you’ll want to feel relaxed in your surroundings. Nowhere else can provide a greater sense of relaxation than in the bedroom and if being honest, nowhere else can provide the greatest sense of excitement. So don’t let a lack of spending power put you off creating a bedroom to fulfill all your desires!

How then can you decorate your bedroom on a budget? Let’s look at a few areas,

Feature walls

Feature walls can be a great way create that WOW effect on a budget. You can often find a couple of dazzling clearance rolls of wallpaper at the department store, enough to just do one wall. You can then couple this with value paints, often on offer at stores, and you are on your way to a beautiful bedroom.

EBay

You can often find cheap fixtures and fittings for your room on eBay. Many people who are not on a budget buy things like rugs, light fittings, wardrobes, only to never use them. These items often find their way onto eBay and you can often pick up some real bargains.

Flooring

If you prefer carpet to wood flooring end of roll bargains are the thing to look for here. Most carpet shops stock roll end carpets at discount prices and you can usually find one to fit your needs. If you’d rather have a solid floor don’t rush out to buy wood flooring, check the condition of your floorboards first. You may be able to varnish or paint them and create a beautiful finish at a fraction of the cost of laminate flooring. If you do decide on laminate ask yourself how long you think it will be before you want to change your bedroom again. It’s true, you get what you pay for but if you change things regularly value flooring may be a better option.

Involve family and friends

Free time is scarce these days and decorators can be expensive. Why not host a decorating party?! Invite your friends and family over to help you decorate your room in exchange for a few drinks and some snacks. You’ll save yourself a lot of money and have an experience to remember.

Don’t let a small budget prevent you from enjoying your home, it’s an expression of your inner self and the one place in the world you can truly feel comfortable!
